David received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts magna cum laude in 1978 and his Juris-Doctorate degree from Hofstra Law School in 1981. 

Mr. Sutton’s management style has been a key factor in SEFA’s evolution from a small 19 member North American Trade Association to the respected global industry association it has become.  He has a proven track record of "getting the job done"  by capitalizing on resources, inspiring staff to take on leadership roles, defining and achieving goals, fulfilling missions and satisfying Board and member needs.

David is a member of the American Society of Association Executives  (ASAE) as well as both the New York (NYSAE) and Florida (FSAE) Chapters.  He has earned the coveted CAE designation, Certified Association Executive, from the ASAE, which demonstrates his commitment to life-long learning and serves as an indicator of the dedication and professionalism he brings to the field of association management.
